Mission.......... LOVE

What is "This is Love?”

This is LOVE is a logo designed by Church Army Evangelist Frank McGregor (see ABOUT US page) as a way of sharing the good news of Jesus. Most people can see that the logo letters spell the word LOVE; but far fewer than you might think immediately see the image of Jesus on the cross until it is pointed out and made clear as on the site home page.

A unique evangelistic tool

Because the image is partially hidden in this way, it makes a unique way of sharing the Gospel. For example, at the Birmingham Assay office where the TIL jewellery is hallmarked it was wonderful to see one woman's reaction in particular. She looked at the silver pendant and asked if the image represented something. It was as if scales fell from her eyes when told how the letters represented the crucified Jesus and how this was God's expression of love to us all.

How you can share Jesus through TIL

With such interest stirred through the use of the logo, it has been reative evangelistic resource to help share the gospel. All of the ideas below are available through the online SHOP.  Buy a pendant or shirt for yourself or as a gift for a friend. Through wearing them you will find that people ask about the design. This is what one person emailed having bought a polo shirt: "...I find it difficult to start a conversation off regarding Faith, but find your logo intrigues people and gives me an opportunity to share"

Send a card for a special occasion
birthday, Easter, Christmas, Baptism, Confirmation, Get Well Soon, Bereavement or as a notelet at any time of the year to express God's love and create a talking point around the image

Use the image as the theme for a local event
parish, area or university mission, with everyone in the team wearing the shirt and by obtaining a license to download and print the image yourself on posters literature.

Set up your own stand in a local market
with a small range of merchandise. You may or may not sell much - but you will find the logo opens up conversation. You can also sell through your church bookshop and encourage the congregation to be involved in a simple form of evangelism.

Easter Resources - especially for children!
With the commercialisation of Easter has gone the loss of the true meaning of the season. This little wooden box makes a superb gift bringing the message of the cross and resurrection. Its a 5cm square origami style box which opens up to reveal Good Friday on one side and Easter Sunday on the other. It contains an easter egg treat, and the letters of LOVE so that children can arrange them on the cross to reveal the image of Jesus. It reminds us that we can't really celebrate the gladness of Easter Sunday (represented by the egg) without going through the sadness of Good Friday (the cross box). The box is flat packed and creased for ease of construction (egg NOT included!). Discount for large orders. Drama script also available for presentation in an All- Age service, school collective worship or open-air outreach.

A logo for the world in the 21st Century

The internet links us all together around the world in wonderful ways. The picture shows Frank McGregor (left) and Scott Spicer of Philadelphia, USA, brought together when Scott's wife came across this site on Google. We are holding a Love Cross designed by Frank in the UK, sculpted by Scott at his home in America, and entered for a competition... in Australia! We didn't win - but this has led to it being shown at an exhibition in Melbourne later in the year! A number of people have asked when copies will be for sale including a teacher who wants one for the school and a minister who wants one 12ft high for outside the church. It will be available to buy in the near future.

Sharing faith creatively in word and deed

"This is Love" is a creative arts ministry sharing the gospel in word and action - supporting evangelism in the UK through the work of Church Army evangelist Frank McGregor, and practically helping others abroad in Myanmar, Burma. (see BURMA page for more on this).

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. He who doesn't love know God, for God is love

By this God's love was revealed in us,that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
